Yes to China's development, No to China's rail safety concerns
The recent metro accident in Shanghai, China, which led to around 284 people being injured, has come into the limelight in relation to the safety of the metro. How safe is China? Though, it is one of the most rapidly developing countries of the world.

CHINA HAS been growing rapidly in terms of infrastructure - as high rises, new buildings, and modern  infrastructure, are coming up in China at a rapid pace. But, the recent Metro accident in one of the busiest cities of the world, Shanghai, has again shown China in bad light - raising safetly concerns. In the process of explosive development, are the Chinese not looking after the safety of their people?

The accident that led to injuries to around 284 people has brought the safety question to the forefront. The accident took place after the collision of two metro trains. The accident was not as disastrous as the one at Wenzhou some months back, in which 40 people died. Chinese officials have to look into these kinds of matters with concern, as rail accidents will give the country a bad name.

China has to remember that they do not have a good name as far as producing quality goods is concerned. They produce goods in quantity, but still there are lots of question to be answered. In the year 2009, India had initially declared a ban for the import of plastic toys from China for a period of six months as they were found to be harmful for children due to the presence of many organic chemicals, which was used in the making of these toys. It clearly shows that the China is not giving a great importance to the safety of the people. They seem to be toying with the lives of many.

We do understand the daily progress that China is making in various sectors. China has also witnessed a large number of cars that have been plying on Chinese roads, so there is a serious need for the Chinese officials to build better roads, bridges and reduce the number of accidents as much as it can due to poor roads, as accidents are bound to happen, where traffic is huge. China holds one of the worst records as far as road accidents is concerned as it records around 600 deaths per day due to road accidents, as per the World Health Organisation report.
