Yet another pay rise for our MPs!
An undertaking needs to be signed by every MP and witnessed by every Supreme Court judge and the President and Prime Minister of India that if caught taking even a tiny bribe or favour from anyone, they will immediately resign.
NOW THAT some of the furore over the pay hike awarded to (Members of Parliament) MPs by MPs themselves has died down a little, it is time to make another proposal for another round of  pay hike for the same MPs. However this time the appraisal would done and salary hike awarded to these nice chaps by the tolerant citizens of this amiable country.

I propose and I would like this to be seconded by all the citizens of the previously named amiable country that the MPs should get another pay rise of ten times the present amount and with all the perks that are thus far associated with this office to also be maintained.

Now before the amiable citizens turn into a raging lynch mob, let me say here that some conditions need to be imposed on these chaps, who would get this pay rise. A few thoughts are given below and dear citizens, do feel free to add your own sets of conditions along with these.

1. An undertaking needs  to be signed by every MP and witnessed by every Supreme Court judge and the President and Prime Minister of India that if caught taking even a tiny bribe or favour from anyone, they  will immediately resign and be sent to his home town with restrictions placed on his/her movements until the courts have taken a decision in the case. Better still, into some remote army barracks where they can be given the job of serving the soldiers their daily meals or something like that.

2. The undertaking would also bear a promise from the concerned MP that he will never again enter politics. Naturally, if found guilty by the courts, which will have to deliver the judgement within three month, the politician concerned would be detained in army barracks, where he would serve his rest of life.

3. These MPs would also make a solemn promise to be solemn during LS proceedings and conduct themselves like gentlemen or gentlewomen without disrupting any discussion and bringing quick ends to debates within a given period of time.

These are some that come to mind. Others are free to add to these conditions.
