THE SPATE of terror attacks in Pakistan continued unabated, with terrorist carrying yet another deadly attack on Monday, October 12, mere days after an attack on the Pakistan army headquarters claimed at least 20 lives.
The latest attack took place on Monday, when a suicide bomber targeted a military vehicle at the Alpuri market in Shangla district of North Western Frontier Province. At least 40 people are believed to have been killed in the blast including six army troops, which took place near a police station and a mosque.
Taliban militants, who executed the weekend attack on Pakistan army headquarters are believed to be behind this suicide. However, no organisation has claimed responsibility for the attack till last reports came in.
It is worthwhile to recall that Taliban terrorists had seized control of Alpuri police station two years back.
The attack on the Pakistan army headquarters was carried out by a Taliban faction based in Punjab, a spokesperson of the militant group had claimed. Nine suspected terrorists had managed to enter the heavily fortified army complex and took a number of soldiers hostage.
