Yogendra Yadav leads Farmers' Rights Yatra in Tamil Nadu; meets MK Stalin
A delegation of Swaraj Abhiyan leaders led by former AAP leader & Swaraj India President Yogendra Yadav, on Wednesday, met the Leader of Opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly & DMK Working President MK Stalin.

Accompanied by other leaders of the organisation, Yogendra Yadav submitted a memorandum to LOP regarding the upcoming Farmers' Rights Yatra being undertaken by a host of organisations under the umbrella of Swaraj Abhiyan.

Along with the memorandum, the leaders also submitted a copy of orders and directions of the Supreme Court passed in the ongoing Drought PIL, a copy of the petition filed by Swaraj Abhiyan to include the Government of Tamil Nadu in the ongoing Drought PIL, a copy of the objectives and the schedule of the Ulavar Urimai Payanam: Farmers Rights Yatra that is being undertaken by Swaraj Abhiyan along with a copy of the Manual for Drought Management prepared by the Centre and placed on record in the Drought PIL. The memorandum also consisted of Remunerative and Universal Price Yield Assurance (RUPYA) scheme proposed by Swaraj Abhiyan.

Swaraj Abhiyan has organised a yatra to express solidarity with the farmers of the state and bring more attention to their plight. Farmers of Tamil Nadu had held a long protest at Jantar Mantar recently but received no help from the Centre or the state.

Leader of Opposition MK Stalin assured the delegation that he will raise the demands for farmers' relief in Tamil Nadu Assembly as LOP and in the Parliament through his Party Parliamentarians. Tamil Nadu has been facing the worst drought in the last 140 years and while the government continues to deny the same, farmers in the state are dying every day.
