Yogi Adityanath CM of UP: Time will tell what is in store
Yogi Adityanath of Gorakhpur had been declared new chief minister of most populous state of India by BJP, the party which had registered a land slide victory in UP assembly polls. There was lot of speculations regarding the chief minister of UP after the announcement of election results of 5 states.

Out of these 5 states BJP won quite comfortably 2 major states namely UP and Uttarakhand whereas it lost Punjab and Goa elections. The verdict in Punjab was in favour of grand old Indian political party Congress. Now, onus is on Congress to take care of the state which is mired with too many problems including drug abuse which is on the verge of wasting a generation's life.

People of Goa and Manipur given a fractured mandate but seeing the opportunity BJP managed to sneak in power by collaborating with regional parties available in scene. There is no moral ground in politics and BJP is treading path of power capturing in a similar way of yesteryears of Congress.

BJP waited for long to decide about the chief minister of UP, several names cropped up during this time of uncertainty including name of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Even people of UP would have loved the appointment of Rajnath Singh at the top post. Apart from being an able administrator he also has pan caste/religion acceptability. He is true disciple of Atalji thought process among the current leaders of BJP. BJP decided to appoint Yogi Aditynath as chief minister of the state while we all know about his controversial past.

After the announcement, a panic button created among the minorities of state due to not only his past controversial remarks against the community but because of his alleged involvement in few cases. Prime minister of India Mr. Modi's speech after the result of assembly elections were declared echoed a completely different tunes to what we are observing now. Even in 2014 general election campaign he had promised too many things and we are still waiting for them to see the light of the day.

According to the data available with ADR, he has many cases pending against his name. Some of the cases pending against his name are of serious in nature like attempt to murder, rioting, criminal intimidation, promoting enmity between two groups, causing injury or defiling the place of worship with an intent to insult the of religion of any class.

People voted for BJP to see the development of all and appeasement of none but by this masterstroke BJP is trying to prove my earlier stance that BJP stands for appeasement of majority group just like Congress was involved with minorities. For India, which has the aspirations to achieve the zenith of development such appeasements of majority or minority is not going to help in anyway.

UP is among the worst developed states of India and it needs really a herculean task to solve the problems of state. Though there were few communal riots including most talked about Muzaffarnagar riots during the reign of Akhilesh-led government, but he started a range of infrastructural development programmes.

Those infrastructural development programs should not be halted due to political differences as it will again stall the development of state. Policing was biggest problem in state of UP including maintenance of law and order across the state. Even PM Modi referred about this in several of election speeches. Now, we are waiting eagerly to see how Yogi will transform this sector.

Chetan bhagat, renowned author of several books tweeted, "#YogiAdityanath as UP CM. because when you make naughtiest guy in class the monitor, he behaves the best."

So, if we go by the logic of Mr. Bhagat, all the criminals should be given one post or other to curb different problems of the country. It is quite possible that Yogi Adityanath as CM of state starts behaving completely different as compare to when he was not in power and trying to get it.

We all know politics used to show a new face every day. It is used to change and evolve with the passage of time. But it would have been better if Modi and his team had picked a non controversial face for top post of UP.
