Young actor Dhruv Ganesh, who worked with Amitabh Bachchan in Teen Patti dies at 29
Dhruv Ganesh (29), an Indian film and theatre actor working in Bollywood who had appeared in quite a few ad films too, died recently on January 28.

Dhruv, a friend of my son since his theater days in Vadodara and who later shared a flat with him in Mumbai. His fans were shocked and saddened with his sudden death, when his career in Bollywood was looking up. Of late, he was suffering from tuberculosis and was undergoing treatment. I got the news of Dhruv's death from my daughter, who lives in Gurgoan.

Dhruv Ganesh got into acting in Vadodara during his college days and went on to share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan and Ben Kingsley in his debut film Teen Patti. He even used to conduct theatre workshops for school children and saw theatre as therapy for children to open up and gain confidence.

After, Teen Patti, he did another feature film Hello/Goodbye directed by Abhimanyu Ray which was screened at different international festivals and won acclaim. Then he starred in with Rajeev Khandelwal in Aditya Datt's film Table No. 21.

"Extremely saddened to hear about the sudden demise of super talented Dhruv Ganesh, my co actor in Table No 21. Can't believe he has left us," tweeted Khandelwal on hearing the death news of Dhruv, who did a cameo role in Akram and Boyss Toh Boyss Hain.

Initially, Dhruv had stage fright, but after doing few plays in Gujarat he gained confidence and became a good theatre performer. He was very good at playing the guitar and jamming with friends.

My son, after he left Mumbai and Dhruv to work in Gurgaon, used to talk often about Dhruv who also attended my daughter's marriage in Jaipur about seven years ago.

RIP Dhruv!
