Young advocate appointed to the International Council of Jurists
A member of Bihar Pradesh Youth Congress and advocate of the Supreme Court, Advocate Minhajul Rashid of Gaya, Bihar, has been appointed member of the International Council of Jurists. He is the youngest member of the prestigious jurists' council.

KUDOS TO Advocate Minhajul Rashid! A member of Bihar Pradesh Youth Congress and advocate of the Supreme Court, Advocate Minhajul Rashid of Gaya, Bihar, has been appointed member of the International Council of Jurists. He is the youngest member of the prestigious jurists’ council.

The young advocate is also a member of the South Asian Minorities Lawyers Association (SAMLA) and has served as General Secretary of Bihar Pradesh Youth Congress. SAMLA is working for crucial issues related to the rights of minorities in the SAARC countries.

Advocate Minhaj did LL.B from Magadh University in 2005. He also did MA in Political Science. He was a university topper throughout his law course and was also the student union president.

He joined the Supreme Court on 22 February 2008 and is practicing criminal cases.

Apart from professional engagement, he finds time for social and political work. He is secretary of Anjuman Foundation, Gaya that provides free education to poor children.

An international four days meeting on legal issues is slated to begin in the second week of August 2011 in England. Rashid will represent India and put forward the truth of legal ways and functioning in India. Noted lawyers and many social and welfare organizations from Punjab, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Bihar have expressed happiness over his achievement at a young age. With a vast area and need for work on important legal issues at national and international levels, it is expected that the young advocate would prove an asset to the nation.
