The visitors were amazed by the ICT skills of the highlanders. In all it was a fun-filled learning experience for around 100 budding IT specialists of the Scottish High school, who put their best feet forward by coming up with a brilliant ICT exhibition.
THOSE LUCKY few who witnessed the ICT exhibition, held at Scottish High school in Gurgaon on September 29 were left in awe. The exhibition sounds more special, when one realises that it was the students of the middle school who sweat it out for the exhibition. Most exhibitions, held across schools allot marks, thus trying to get the best out of the students, but these students in Scottish High were not given any grades or marks, but they were up for it, as their projects on display did all the talking.
Ashima Srivastava, Head of Department, Information and Communication Technology, when asked about the number of days that the project took to be ready, said, “It depended on the complexity of the project ranging from a minimum of 2 days to a month. Students who used Adobe flash to create their projects took more time.” The participants of the exhibition were taken from VI to VIII standard.
The parents of the students along with the school staff formed the audience of the exhibition. They created some very nice quizzes, puzzles etc. But, it was the Kaun Banega Crorepati quiz in the exhibition, which stood out. Many of the visitors tried their hand in it as well. Apart from such projects, others which found a place in the exhibition were switches, modems, routers, network topologies and flowcharts.
Srivastava added, “Some of the parents could not believe that the middle school students could come up with such quality performance.” Such kind of students need to be groomed properly, as they have a bright future ahead, but they should always work hard and strive for success.
