Your Approach to life
It is for us to decide how we take our life and how we handle different situations in life. Like it is said, our approach can determine our success and our failure. It is better to fail after trying rather than not trying at all.

AS I was pondering on the many lessons, which life has taught me, I also thought of how I had approached various situations and events. It is entirely our viewpoint about how we see things.

Let me tell you something about how we see things. Let me give you some brainteasers. There is a glass with 50 per cent water, if I ask a 100 people to comment on it, some may say that the glass is half empty and some may say that glass is half filled. Both are correct but it’s the approach that matters. People who say that glass is half empty probably see the emptiness of the glass and people who say that glass is half filled see its content. This is how we approach life.

There is not a single person on this planet that has not faced hardships and atrocities, but the way of emerging from these is different. Some have surfed up and some sank. It’s all about our dealing. Failures are bound to come in everything but what matters is whether we learn from our failures or get discouraged and sit back.

Perfectionists are not born naturally but it’s their practice and willingness to improve, which makes them different. All people who curse life don’t see the beauty life offers but always look at the tough aspect and make a preconceived notion that they are not capable enough to tackle or face the problem.

When some task is given to us, it’s our choice to say that, “I cannot do it,” or “I will try to the best of my capability.” Attitude to learn and improve every time makes us a winner. It is said, “A winner never quits and a quitter never wins.” For the fear of goofing up things, don’t hesitate to at least give it a try. When a small child learns how to walk, he stumbles umpteen numbers of times but eventually walks on his own and is happy because he has not given up the trial but has conquered his fears and achieved. We too can learn to walk after stumbling or can just sit and lament about our fall.

Lets take an example, there were two brothers born out of same parents. One was a drunkard, drug addict and used to beat up his wife, whereas the other was a very successful businessman with a good reputation in the society and had a wonderful family. When the drunkard was asked about his source of influence, he replied, “My father, who used to be a drunkard and used to beat us up.”

The other brother was asked the same question and he replied, “My inspiration is my father who was a drunkard and used to beat us up and I had made up my mind not to be like him.” These are sons of same parents, brought up in same environment, but had a different approach in life. Our approach can determine our success and failure. Deadly diseases motivate the doctors to bring about new treatment opportunities. They don’t give up, rather do their best to fight against it.

The ‘laid-back-attitude’ is easy and takes us towards an easy path but later pushes us into the pit of failure. It is better to fail after trying rather not trying at all. Remember, “A winner never quits and a quitter never wins.”
