Intolerance is now wrecking havoc in Britain. The teenagers are now out of control. This teenage dissatisfaction is now a global problem. Problem should be solved very carefully taking the adolescent psychology into serious consideration.
IT IS a painful news for the world that riots sweept the UK capital. Riots have spread across London. It is a big controversy if the media is responsible for fuelling the outrage or the untoward things are the outcome of nihilistic policies of the Cameron government. Financial crisis is another guess.
But social causes are no less responsible for the outrage in Britain. In the age of consumerism rapacious materialism prevails. Those who are not getting the cake will not wait for bread either. Being deprived of opportunities young people feel resentful and angry. In an age of neo-liberalism ‘wanton vandalism’ is not quite unnatural. Earlier also in Britain, class and racism were key factors underlying the turmoil of the 80s.
Intolerance has now been wrecking havoc in Britain and people feel a sense of marginalization and exploitation. Those who are hell bent on destroying the fabric of society should not forget that peace loving people in Britain are more in number. The society that underwent a structural adjustment of privatization and welfare cutbacks cannot fully ignore the grievance of the underclass. The deregulated finance sector is also no less responsible for the turmoil seething for years in that country.
Then comes the question of the uncontrollable teenagers. This outrageous teenagers are posing a menace for the globe. The question is now raised what posterity we are leaving the world to why are they so unruly? Why are they so bereft of values? We passed our youth in greater poverty and less luxury than these guys and gals. Wanton vandalism at home and outside was unthinkable to us. We just could not imagine it. Some images of violence are really sickening. It is a heart chilling news that teenagers are on the rampage in London.Thousands of Police are posted to control them. They are behaving like hooligans.They demanded jobs and other amenities. Their demands may have justifications but this is not the way that grievance can be redressed. Whom these young people are really targetting is not very clear. The government may be but this has affected general life of the people in Britain. Life is becoming very much insecure and unsafe. In this land of Shakespeare, such uncivilised things can happen, it is really painful even to think. Children are nowadays very much unruly. 'Spare the rod , spare a child'- this adage is now very true. Our children are getting uncontrollable. Even for a Cadbury chocolate bar, a child can kill his or her mom. Obedience is gradually disappearing. The more disobedient and unruly the childrn become, the smarter they are in the eyes of the parents.
But this kind of pampering will have its consequences. Things are going beyond control. There should be some restraint to be imposed on the children. Parents are interfering too much and imposing, but without a little control, the brilliant children are getting spoilt. They could build their career in a better way under the strict guidance of the parents.
But instead they turn mediocore. They are to satisfy themselves with
petty jobs. Sometimes, they become robots under pressure. But one child can be a man after being fully accomplished. Freedom does never mean anarchy. A child should be kept under control till he gets a strong footing in the real world. Unless a child is not given proper education, there is a possibility of his getting lost.Then this kind of situation prevails. Hooliganism cannot be the answer.
First, seek your answer in your own accomplishments. It is not wise to waste time in the golden youth and then turn a hooligan to pressurise parents and the government that there is no job. Jobs may be waiting for them if they are ready to join the jobs. But where is the readiness in the youth?
