YouTube launches channel for citizen journalists
The video sharing website YouTube has launched a dedicated channel YouTube Direct for citizen journalism. It is an attempt to better connect news organisations with user generated content. It will provide a unique platform to the citizen journalists.

WORLD LEADING video portal YouTube has launched a channel YouTube Direct for citizen journalists. Television and online news portals can obtain video from ‘citizen journalists’. Many media organisations want footages of natural calamities, disaster, sensational videos, breaking news videos, etc. News organisations seeking footage can announce it in a variety of ways, including videos posted at YouTube. When a YouTube user has video which they think, will interest the mainstream media, it can make it easy for journalists to contact them. It is an incentive of YouTube to upload great video, because of the recognition given by the news organisations.

These days, new media that is known as citizen journalism encourages citizen and every responsible individual who want to do something for their society and for their nation at large etc. Anybody who wants carry out his responsibilities and duties towards his country can be a citizen journalist. The channel YouTube Direct launched by YouTube will provide a unique platform to every citizen journalist who wishes to do some creative work.
