Yuvraj undergoing cancer treatment, unlucky boy of Indian cricket
Yuvraj Singh has seen the highs and lows in all formats of the game in his cricket career till date. He is currently undergoing cancer treatment at Boston in the US.

ONE CAN never question about the talent that Yuvraj Singh possesses. His magic has been witnessed across the world, the most recent being the World Cup triumph, where he was also awarded the best player for the tournament. But he has also had a share of off field problems, which has brought him into headlines. He has been a player who has been in and out of the team. But he always came back stronger. This time he has again made headlines but for a sad reason. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy in the Cancer Research Institute in Boston, reported Hindustan Times.

The elegant left hander has not been a part of the Indian team in various series over the world. On occasions he has been dropped and sometimes has suffered injuries as a result he had to back out of the series. Last year, he suffered an injury during India’s tour of England, where he fractured his left index finger. Earlier, during the year he was diagnosed with a respiratory infection. In 2010, he had suffered a ligament tear. He had earlier also broken his finger during the practise session at Johannesburg.

But all these injury concerns don't sound serious when compared to the cancer treatment that he is undergoing. He seems to be a player, who is always unlucky. He is not the only cricketer who has been a cancer victim. Players such as Frank Worrell, Michael Clarke, Malcolm Marshall, Geoff Boycott, Fred Trueman, and Roy Fredricks have all gone through this phase of suffering and pain (Cancer) during their lifetime, which Yuvraj is undergoing currently.

Even the sports minister, Ajay Maken has shown a desire to help the cricketer, as he tweeted on his twitter account, "Wish Yuvraj a speedy recovery! Asking officials to find the quantum and nature of help required. Government shld and will help him," reported The Times of India. He is not the only cricketer who has been a cancer victim. There are many tweets in twitter, which have the same sentiment as that of Maken - wishing Yuvraj a speedy recovery.

Many cricket fans around the world are eager to see that the player gets relief from such illness as early as possible. They would want to see that the lad from Punjab, who holds the record for being the only Indian to score six sixes in an over in a T20 match, to come up with such scintillating performances. He is a joy to watch, when in full flow. He has brought laurels to the country by playing some winning knocks. But when the player recuperates from his injury and gains full fitness, will he be the same Yuvraj that we have seen in the past?
