Does that mean one of India’s best and stylish left-handers is marking an end to his career or will he be inspired from sportsmen like Lance Armstrong who also was treated for the same disease? Only time will tell, but his fans would pray that Punjabi Munda gets well soon and starts pestering the bowlers by hitting all across the fence.
"It is a rare tumour and is cancerous but it has been detected in stage one itself. Doctors had to decide whether to continue medication or go for chemotherapy but since parts of the tumour are just above the artery of his heart, there was a danger that while running it could burst. But it is 100% curable,” Chaudhary was quoted by the newspaper.
Though there are lots of concerns whether he would be able to take to field again but the physiotherapist has said that Yuvraj would be fit to play for the country again in May. One encouraging thing that the fans are harping on is that the star batsman recently wrote on his Twitter that he would seek inspiration from Lance Armstrong, the cyclist who won multiple Tour de France titles after being treated for testicular cancer.
The problem for the batsman started last year after the World Cup in which he was declared the man of the series. He had to miss the tour to West Indies and England and was dropped for the third Test match against West Indies in the home series.
The athletic fielder who can bowl quite well also is seen as one of the most stylish Indian batsmen who has scored in some great games and driven his team to victory. The fans would be waiting for the moment they see their favourite batsman in the field again.
