Zebra crossing to help commuters outside Cyber City Metro station in Gurgaon
With Gurgaon housing a number of corporate offices, people from all over NCR throng the area. Most of these commuters use Delhi Metro and also the Rapid Metro to reach their respective destinations, primarily offices located in Udhyog Vihar. But the scene early morning and evening around Cyber City Metro Station seems to be chaotic with people ready to cross the road, risking their lives as well.

to those people who use Cyber Metro station as their starting or
finishing point of their journey.

Udyog Vihar between 8 and 9 am. We stop the traffic for a brief
period so that pedestrians, in groups of around 50, are able to cross
the expressway safely. We do the same during the peak hours in the
evening. We had thought of installing a traffic signal but it did not
seem a feasible because there is ongoing construction work of a
16-lane speedway. It would have been difficult to keep shifting the
signal," said a traffic police officer, reported The Times of
this is not for the first time that such kind of measures had been
taken to ease people while crossing the road. The concerned
authorities had also put up speed breakers, but this idea did not
churn much success, as it only led to traffic jam in the area, making
it more chaotic.
