Zed blesses multicultural festival in Nevada with Sanskrit mantras
Hindu statesman Rajan Zed blessed the two-day Fernley Multi Cultural Festival in Nevada (USA) with mantras from ancient Sanskrit scriptures, including verses from world's oldest existing scripture Rig-Veda, on June 30.

Reciting from Brahadaranyakopanishad, Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, said “Asato ma sad gamaya, Tamaso ma jyotir gamaya, Mrtyor mamrtam gamaya”, which he then translated as “Lead me from the unreal to the Real, Lead me from darkness to Light, and Lead me from death to Immortality.”

Community leader Cory Hernandez introduced Zed, while Festival organizer Maria Duran thanked him.

This Festival, held on June 29 and 30 in Fernley Out of Town Park;  sponsored by the Fernley-Wadsworth Lions Club; featured various folk dances, Mariachi and other music, gunfighters, martial arts and Charros on horseback.

Fernley, home to Reno-Fernley Raceway, was established in 1904 and incorporated in 2001. LeRoy Goodman is the Mayor and Christopher Good is the City Manager.
