Zed, Khali to be honoured on Himachal day in California
Himachal Day is reportedly being organised for the first time in USA to celebrate the culture of Himachal Pradesh state of India. Two prominent persons from HP, Dalip Singh Rana and Rajan Zed will be honoured at this event
ACCLAIMED INDO-AMERICAN and Hindu statesman Rajan Zed will be honoured at 'Himachal Day' in Milpitas (California, USA) on June 14, being organised to celebrate the culture of Himachal Pradesh state of India.

Complete with Himachali dances, culinary delicacies, music, folk fashions, displays, etc, at Milpitas India Community Center (ICC); 'Himachal Day', reportedly being held for the first time in USA, will bring few hundred Himachalis and friends of Himachal Pradesh together. ICC has dedicated June as 'Himachal Month' and is holding displays of Himachali crafts, paintings, pictures, etc, showcasing its rich cultural heritage.

Two prominent persons from Himachal Pradesh will be honoured on the occasion—Dalip Singh Rana and Rajan Zed—who will be presented with plaque and shawl each.  World Heavyweight Championship winner Rana (The Great Khali), with a billed height of 7’ 3”, is a professional wrestler with World Wrestling Entertainment, a power lifter, former Mr India, and actor (Get Smart). Zed has taken up Hindu, interfaith, religion, environment, Roma and other causes all over the world. He read the groundbreaking first Hindu opening prayer in United States Senate in Washington DC. He has been bestowed with “World Interfaith Leader Award.”

Coordinating committee, which is organising this colourful event, includes community leaders Mahesh Nihalani, Asha Stokes Sharma, Colonel Vishnu Sharma, Doctor Meena Patyal, Sudha Stokes Puar, etc, who are collaborating with 'My Himachal' of Philadelphia. Organisers plan to hold it every June.
