In the 2016 Oculus Connect conference, Facebook had revealed the then yet to be launched product. Facebook Spaces needs an Oculus Touch VR setup namely the Oculus Rift headset and traceable Touch controllers. Gear VR developed by Oculus will not be enough since Facebook space needs you to use your hands. Very high processing power is also a complete essential for Facebook's new social VR app to function.
Take a look at Facebook Spaces' teaser trailer released yesterday on Gamespot's YouTube channel and you'd know what everything I just said means.
"Now, your Facebook friends can join you—virtually—in Rift with Facebook Spaces! This new VR app takes some of the best features of Facebook and brings them into your VR space. Spend time with friends and family like you're really there, step inside 360 videos, draw and play with Touch, and more", says the description box.
But the creepiest thing about Facebook Spaces is that your VR clone can only smile. It can't laugh or get mad/angry. Now just imagine a world like that!
