We are overwhelmed by the response and the interest that our contributors have shown in our site. This has further strengthened our belief about the requirement of a platform for all individuals to express themselves and share their opinion and views. At times, we have found our present format wanting in terms of being true to our promise to provide a platform to all. We intend to address these issues on an ongoing basis however, in order to reinforce our raison d’etre viz. Power to People we would like to introduce The C Log: The Citizen Log. The C Log is a space where articles, personal pieces, brief write-ups will all go unedited.

Teesta Setalvad said that the raw courage of the victim witnesses, especially women witnesses who deposed fearlessly while still residing in Naroda Patiya is a reflection of the confidence generated after the Supreme Court monitoring and the protection from Central Paramilitary forces provided by the Supreme Court.

In politics there is no permanent acrimony as such. Today's friend is tomorrow's foe, and yesterday?s foe is today's friend. The Coalgate scam shakes the UPA, but it gives chance to Mamata to fish in dirty waters.

The Prime Minister, who is also the atomic energy minister, must respond to this devastating CAG report in a responsible manner, announce a moratorium on all the nuclear activities all over India, set up an 'empowered and independent' regulatory authority, and most importantly, work for the welfare of the people of India rather than the corporations of the United States, Russia, France, and Australia.

The activists alleged that Shreela was targeted by Mr.Kalaikovan, who explicitly threatened her with rape and other physical harm, besides threatening the whole group with murder. the US Exim Bank and OPIC have been offering very low rates of interest (about 3 per cent) and a long repayment schedule (up to 18 years) to Indian solar project developers on the condition that they buy thin-film panels manufactured by US companies. Loans from Indian banks come with an interest rate of close to 14 per cent or more. This has skewed the market completely in favour of thin-film panels imported from US despite the fact that thin-film has lower efficiency when compared to crystalline panels. Close to 60 per cent of the panels installed in India are thin-film type even though only 14 per cent of global capacity is thin-film
The Bill contains several clauses providing for the take over of subjects provided in the Provincial Council list in the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution, raising serious concerns not merely of centralisation and the consolidation of power, but also of the political will of the Government in terms of its pledges to implement to the full existing provisions in the constitution on devolution.

Productive forces in Manipur have weakened considerably. Agricultural lands have been increasingly compromised for brick fields, saw mills and other industries. Young farmers and fishermen switch jobs to contract works and security agencies like the Police, VDF and Home Guards. The Forest department remains asleep amidst desertation in hills and the Minor Irrigation department becomes mad in Akash bills. Water that is supposed to be conserved by the forests and way-led to cultivable fields through drainages can hardly meet the farmers in the field. Officials of Agriculture department are tired of reaping wealth out of schemes and projects meant for farmers.
Power supply, water availability, road connectivity, public transport and fares, educational and health facilities, vocations and livelihood of local people, likes and dislikes, lifestyles etc. are the most frequently asked questions in the live phone-in programme, 'Good Morning Manipur'.
