Can the 370-run Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara Test partnership be ranked the best ever?
In a stunning and record-breaking partnership, these two batsmen who are still trying to establish themselves in the Indian side - drove, pulled, and cut the hapless Australian bowlers to all parts of the ground in the second Test match at Hyderabad. Vijay scored 167 and Pujara 204. Reminiscent of similar partnerships between Dravid and Laxman - can the Murali-Pujara partnership be ranked as the best ever in India's test match history?

Both were almost new comers... and playing against the giant Australians. Given the situation it can be placed in the list of best test partnerships and innings played by any Indian player.

There are many partnerships is just not the number counts but situation and intensity of match also counts. What's the use of scoring 100 runs in one sided match..

And why do you think so? Is there an awards ceremony where these partnerships are ranked and rewarded? They did a wonderful job and courtesy this partnership India floored the so-called invincible Aussies. I don't find any reason to rank such partnerships.

Are you nuts? What are you talking about? No doubt, the quantity of runs scored may be deceiving, but look at the other partnerships, such as Laxman and Dravid's in Eden Gardens - the context of the match and the Aussies bowling line up. What about Laxman's and Tendulkar partnership in Sydney in the summer of 2004. And the other partnership featuring Sehwag and Tendulkar in Multan. These are partnerships, which would be remembered for years to come. But, yes, we will remember this Vijay and Pujara's partnership for some time, but it will definitely not go in the history of best Indian partnership ever. May be the top 20 best partnerships.

This was indeed one of the best partnership but there were many more partnerships like Dravid and Laxman in Australia when Indian team was about to loose. Foreign conditions, bouncy pitch and sheer pressure made their partnership best.
