Should there be more Lok Adalats in Gurgaon to decrease backlog of registered cases?
Gurgaon has a population of 20 lakhs and every day hundreds of cases are registered in the city, which puts huge pressure on higher courts in Haryana and Punjab. Though there are Lok Adalats, and the administration organizes Mega Lok Adalats from time to time - only 150-220 cases are decided in such adalats - leaving many hundreds undecided. Will more Lok Adalats solve the crisis of long pending cases in Gurgaon? Or should another approach be taken?
