The World Bank has sanctioned Rs. 4000 crore for the Bihar Kosi Flood Recovery Project to the Bihar state government to re-develop the areas near the flood-prone river and prevent future tragedies like the one in 2008 when due to river flooding the river changed its course and flooded large areas - displacing thousands of people. But the RJD has reacted by saying that the funds might be diverted for elections, and the locals doubt whether they will benefit.
