Unemployed youths in Punjab, the figure of which has crossed 40 lakh, are already on road or involved in drugs, the farmers of Punjab - known as the king of fields, sustainer of nation - have also come on the roads being fed up from the wrong policies of the government.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has started focusing in Punjab ahead of Assembly elections to be held in 2017. Punjab has only represented AAP in Lok Sabha by electing 4 MPs out of 13 Lok Sabha seats with a vote share of 25 per cent. But, with the internal rift in the party, chances of AAP, which was tipped to be the party of the future looks to be dark with Chhotepur and Sanjay Singh destroying the image.
