On martyrs' day celebrations at Hussainiwala to commemorate the 87th martyrdom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, the Punjab Students Union demanded to convert the hide-out place of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his associates in Toori Bazar, into a museum and library.
During his visit to the border town Ferozepur in Punjab, Dr Harjinder Singh Walia, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication while presiding over the Seminar on "Journalism Yesterday, Today and Tommorrow" at the local Press Club said, "Success comes to those only who have aim in their life. The journalism of Punjab is attached with the movement from the very beginning. It started as a mission, became profession and later on as production house."
With the outcome of the results of Assembly elections in five States Uttar Pardesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has become stronger. Not only this, both PM Narendera Modi and Party President Amit Shah have risen in stature post the election results.
Against all tall claims by Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and speculations of opinion polls, the substantial mandate given by the people of Punjab in Congress' favour with more than 70 seats in the pool of the Punjab Assembly Elections 2017, it was a tough fight between Congress and AAP.
