Gurgaon's Municipal Corporation has again started its anti-polythene drive to make the city polythene and pollution free. The MCG on May 16 took this drive to Sadar Bazar and sector 56 market and fined almost 16 shopkeepers who were found using poly bags and selling their stuff in polythene to consumers.

Pharmacists across India called for a nationwide strike on Friday adding to the woes of patients, as they protested the new drug policy resulting in the reduction in profit margin by 6 percent. Their demands also include no Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in pharma trade, no reduction in trade margins as proposed in the new drug policy and not making it mandatory for a chemist to have a qualified pharmacist at the shop while selling medicines.
