Sikkim CM loathes homosexuals, says no to same-sex marriages

Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling has rubbished the idea of permitting 'same-sex marriages' in the society, and asked village Panchayats to put off any such act right from the village level.

For better governance, India should be divided into 50 states: Sikkim CM

Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling has advocated the creation of at least 50 separate states in the Indian union for better governance and development. Having been the longest serving CM of a small state since 1994, Chamling told a TV news channel that he supports the idea of small states 'for better governance'.

4000 stranded tourists return to Gangtok

May 30's visit to the beautiful Changu lake and Nathula pass in East Sikkim became a harrowing experience for over 4,000 tourists as they were stuck due to landslides while returning back to Gangtok. The visitors, from several states of the country, were stranded in 418 vehicles at 15th Mile area near Kyonglosla, along JN Road.
