The book 'Keerook and Other Stories from North East India' is a collection of ten fictional short stories based on lives and livelihoods of the people living in North East region. It was written by Group Captain Mohonto Panging VM (Retd) and released in Guwahati earlier this month.
Films have been one of the strongest tools for social change in our society. In a bid to create awareness on social issues and promote documenting issues through lens, Saraighat Film Festival was organised by North East Youth Foundation (NEYF) on 2nd November in Guwahati.

Being the only IIM in the Northeastern region of the country, it is making rapid progress in terms of academic quality, extra-curricular activities, corporate visibility and social impact.
In an age of commercialistaion, people are more interested in producing films, which are going to gross huge revenues. In the process, the audiences also go out and watch such films. But, there is a certain segment of people in the society, who loves to address social issues primarily. But still, there is not a huge number of people who take keen interest on such issues, though times are changing.
