Unfortunately the green cover and the 'heritage' trees in the DU campus, about 500m from the office of the VC has almost vanished. This might spoil the ambiance, for which north campus is known, so the matter should be looked upon most urgently.
Sunday (Feb 24) was a day of great pride and happiness for birders across Delhi. Covering various places, several bird watching teams set out on the task of tracing as many number of bird species from the city as possible. The data is being collated.
After years of conservation activity and having been literally brought back from the brink of extinction, the Indian Gharial (Gavialis gangeticus) is in serious trouble yet again. Only timely action will save it from facing the same fate as the dodo.
