Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar last Saturday, in an interior village of a Pune tehsil, had said, "If there is no water in the dam...should we urinate into it?" He has apologized now but being an elected member of the state assembly and the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, his was a highly irresponsible statement. Should situations like these be evidence and reason enough to fast-track the Right to Recall bill to de-elect a person and call for fresh elections for a replacement?
