Semiliguda High School is one of the recognised schools where tribal students from Lamtaput, Koraput, Jeypore, Pottangi, Rayagada, Naraynpatna, Laxmipur, Malkangiri and many interior areas of Koraput district study.

From the said school, seventy tribal students of Koraput district in Odisha left the hostel alleging improper accommodation. For the past 5 days there is no electricity in the hostel, due to which they face problems in studies.

As these student come here covering hundreds of kilometres, away from their families to acquire knowledge and get educated, such problems seem to be an obstacle in their education.

Reportedly, the said hostel was constructed with an tender value of Rs 48,54,133. During the commencement of the hostel there were only 40 students who resided in hostel and till date 70 students are there and reported there is no warden for the said hostel, sources said.

It seems there is no care taker for the hostel and the students leave with any guidance. There is no civil maintenance for the hostel. As Koraput is hilly area and covered with dense forest is recorded as the highest rainfall in the Odisha state. During the rainy days it is ascertained leakage from the hostel roof. Hostel students tie small polytheans to avoid self from the rain water.

Similarly, if the toilet is sited on then the toilet seems to be the house of diseases. It is so abstract that it seems from months or years the toilet is not cleaned. To avoid the contaminated disease some students prefer to go to the field for toilet.

With the interrogation to school teachers about the electricity they said as the due electric bill of 17400/- is unpaid due to which there is electric cut off for last 5 days. "In early days all the hostel problems will be resolved and for which one attendant Prabhat Behera and a teacher Pramanada Bharat is deployed for the issue and they will soon short is out as soon as possible", said Kaberi Biswal.

With these above problems it is not able to any student in the world can carry on the studies smoothly. But here the question arise that till date wasn't there any monitor for the school hostel maintenance by the District administration or the Semiliguda Block Administration nor the School Administration. If yes then why the public and parents of these poor students and students faced this day to leave the hostel and if no then why?
