It is here pertinent to mention that after 1989 thousands of Kashmiri Hindus fled from the sate and few who stayed there are being protected b the local Muslims and they are being assisted by local Muslims whenever they feel any need.

Bandipora: In an accidental fire indent an eighty year old Temple gutted in Northern District Bandipora of Jammu and Kashmir State Kashmir.

     An 80year old Kali Temple located near the District Hospital Bandipora Northern District Bandipora of Jammu and Kashmir 58 KM from Summer Capital Srinagar of the State.

Located in ward no 5 near district hospital Temple gutted in an accidental fire, locals said. The Temple was closed from last 15 years when resistant movement initiated in the state after which Kashmir Pandiths fled from the valley. The Temple is located close to the states Muslim seminary Darullul Rahemiya where hundreds of youths are studying the Islamic Theology and Comparative religions.

Alleging Drug Addicts of setting fire to the Temple, local Muslims said that the Police is giving free hand to the drug peddlers who set fir to the temple.

  “Local Muslims were looking after the Temple till then, but the growing drug addiction is the cause of today fire accident in which the building of the temple total gets destructed” said Muhammad Mubashir.

 “By the efforts of the locals the half of the building was saved from the fire, it the due to the hard efforts official Muslim youths who extinguish fore for bout three hours” said a local Saleem Ahmed

 “The temple was then visited by huge number of pandiths then however till 1999 few pandiths also were visiting the temple” said Mushatq Ahmed neigh borer.

  Alleging the state Government of ruing the heritage site, a local women Nasreena Begun said “the Temple was in a concrete condition, when it started ruining we Muslims approached the government for its protection but they never take note of our representations”

  “Now it is dude to the growing drug addiction which is again the laxity with government which ked to the fire accidents” She said.

Drug peddlers backed by local police were gathering here and they might have unconsciously set fore to the Temple, said another local resident

  “It was the leftover gift our Pandith community s we were protecting it like our own property but government apathy led to the destruction of this 80 year old temple “said locals.

  Police has filed the report however the cause of fire is not known yet and is under investigation
