APPROACHING JUDGES

JUSTICE R Reghupathy of Madras High Court should be complimented for his exposure of being influenced by a Union Minister. Complete details about the Union minister having approached the judge should be disclosed even if the concerned minister seeks unconditional apology.

The Chief Justice of India should direct to make it compulsory for all on judicial posts to disclose complete details of approach or influence, if any, in their judgements so that persons trying to influence judges may be punished so as to effectively check such incidents.

Also rule should be that any judge refusing or transferring a case should give complete reasons in detail in the case-file for refusal or transfer of a court-case. This practice should be common for all courts from lowest trial-court to Supreme Court. Often judges transfer the cases because of being approached.
