Earlier where issues needed cross party transparency or something, Joint Parliamentary has been used effectively in the past. It is interestingly how in most cases, it is politician who are caught, not the bureaucrats who help them to do grimy.
RESIGNATION OF Maharastra CM Chavan followed by shacked of Kalmadi and now again resignation of Telecom Minister Raja placed Government and Indian in shame on the world map. In India, it seems our politics involve more in corruption than development of country. Our system is such that hardly any political party left today without any connection with corruption and day-by-day frauds are coming.
We the people are helpless to find the answers of all these swindle. The opposition parties have no option in Parliament to accept adjournment and force for Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). Is in India, there is no solution for it? Earlier where issues needed cross party transparency or something, Joint Parliamentary has been used effectively in the past. It is interestingly how in most cases, it is politician who are caught, not the bureaucrats who help them to do grimy.
JPC will not suited for criminal investigation against anyone politicians. The main problem is that despite of exit of mechanisms, there is absence of political will. In addition, our investigative agencies who mostly worked under government control create the perception that they are incapable and unwilling to do their job.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has wide-ranging powers including the appointing of experts to help them. It is not their lack of capacity, which is the constraint, causing our investigation agencies to be unsuccessful. It is instead, a steady politicisation of their role, and their dependable incapability to state their self-determination. Today CBI is merely the institutions exist to investigate and not to accuse those with the political power and connections.
The investigating agencies can delay murder cases like criminal involvement but delaying of corruption cases is really put their job in question mark, which generally needs less time for probe. Resignations are necessary weapon for leaders in the support of political fire fighting but answerability cannot stop here. In accountable system and natural justice requires that the normal mechanisms of the law be permitted to operate, what CBI needs today for strengthening it.
Yet, as long as the political will to do so is missing and using the CBI to file and withdraw cases is merely one of the benefits of being in power at the Centre, closure will escape us when dealing with high-profile allegations of corruption.
People have one answer they should not cast their votes from next elections until government will come up with proper solution.
