CM announces IPH Sub Division for Jassur

Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh said Himachal Pradesh had emerged as a model of development amongst the big States of the country as it had taken lead in most of the major sectors. He said that no limit could be fixed for development and there was always scope for new horizons to be set up in every field. It was an era of science and technology and we should come forward with open mind and open hands.

He was addressing a mammoth public meeting at Jassur in Kangra district today.

He said that unemployment allowance could not be justified as it could lead to inefficiency and lassitude in the society and would not spread any positive message among the youth. Only skill development could pave the way for a meaningful and respected way of living. He said that annually Rs.100 crores were being spent on skill development and a loan of Rs.550 crores were sanctioned by the Asian Development Bank for development of skill in the state.

Peeping into the developmental history of the state, the Chief Minister said that Himachal Pradesh had progressed leaps and bounds after it was accorded full statehood. There was no degree college in the beginning but today it had as many as 116 degree colleges and four medical colleges. Most of these educational institutions were opened in the Congress government regime, he said

He urged the people especially the youth to respect their roots and stick to them as departing from ones root could be detrimental to the society. He said that we should find new ways to live purposefully and rightfully.

Shri Virbhadra Singh announced new IPH sub-division for Jassur, PHC at Gheora and Ayurvedic Health Centre at Kandwal. He also sanctioned funds for the renovation of Civil Hospital, Nurpur and for tiles flooring in Samiti land at Jassur.

He announced up gradation of GHS, Bhugnara to plus two school, GMS, Chaunki to GH School, GMS, Rode to GH School and GPS, Lakhanpur to Govt. Middile School. He also announced to provide mortuary cabin (freezer) at Civil Hospital, Nurpur, starting of classes in science and commerce streams in GSSS, Sukhar, science classes in GSSS, Aund and commerce classes in GSSS, Jassur provided all conditions were fulfilled. He also announced construction of science blocks in GSSS, Baranda and Sadwan.

He announced construction of playgrounds at Akhla Muari, Kopra, Garli Khad, Sulaili, Kadroh and Kamnaloh and Kushti Akhara at Lamba Nallah to be built at a cost of Rs.10 lakhs each. He approved development of Sadwan Chaunk by fixing of solar lights and benches. He also sanctioned link roads from Ming Grian to Bhai Pathiar via Kumarhar Basti, Suliali to Relah via Halti and Keorgharian to GHS Kotplari via Harijan Basti.

Local M.L.A. Shri Ajay Mahajan thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating and laying foundation stones of various developmental projects worth crore of rupees in his constituency. He alleged the opposition for not having done anything constructive in its regime and de-notifying the 100 bedded civil hospital to 50 bedded hospital. He enumerated various facilities created in the hospital during the last four years. He said that roads works worth Rs. 128 crore were being carried out in the constituency. In Jassur alone, developmental works at a cost of Rs.10 crore were being taken out at present.

Later in the evening, the Chief Minister dedicated the link road named after Shaheed Joginder Singh from Baduhi to Jatoli Thora, Baral constructed at a cost of Rs.88.35 lakhs with one bridge on Bhaloon Khad constructed at Rs.169.25 lakhs and the water supply scheme (WSS) Aund Kopra completed with a cost of Rs. 262.52 lakhs.
