Cyberabad Police, Telangana has formed a Crime Against Women Cell (CAW) in their headquarter office, Hyderabad, which is lead by Malkajgiri DCP Rama Rajeshwari. ACP Cyber Crimes Snehita and ACP Crimes Usha Rani will be in-charge of the East and West SHE teams.
60 SHE teams, each comprising of an SI or ASI and some constables are formed. 10 of the 60 SHE teams will move in IT corridor. Police presence are increased by setting up nine new check-posts, introducing of IT corridor patrolling with five vehicles.
All teams are provided with vehicles and spy cams, which will move in about 200 indentified hot-spots looking for people harassing women.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand.Counselling of those who will be caught for sexually harassing women at public places and progress of cases registered by SHE teams will be monitored by the headquater cell.
Cyberabad Police's official Facebook page fingerprints and personal data of the persons involved in such offences would be collected and records of their weekly attendance before the police officials concerned would be maintained. A separate Facebook page was launched for SHE teams of Cyberabad.
SHE teams will paste posters containing their numbers and other details in autorickshaws, cabs and RTC buses along with distribution of pamphlets in educational institutions. Short films of 60 seconds to 90 seconds duration on sexual harassment at public places and stalking are being prepared.
All 43 law and order police stations of Cyberabad will have Women Help Desks with woman constables attending to complaints of crimes against women. They would conduct preliminary inquiries and refer the complaints to the Station House Officer for action.
