Deceiving NCP MLA's seeks 4 weeks time before Goa Speaker

Goa Assembly Speaker had summoned all the three NCP MLAs for a meeting on Monday in his cabin, after their party high command conveyed to him that it wanted to replace its whip and the legislative wing's chief.

Two of the three legislators belonging to the nationalist congress party who appeared before the Speaker of the Goa legislative Assembly Pratapsingh Rane on Monday for hearing over the issue of appointment of a leader of the NCP legislature wing as also the chief whip of the party in Goa has asked for a 4 weeks time to give their reply to the speaker.
 
Revenue minister Jose Philip D’Souza and tourism minister Nilkanth Halarnkar have asked for a four weeks’ times to file their reply. The MLA’s were asked by the speaker to submit their "say" by answering a questionnaire along with documents, to the Speaker’s office by 11 am on Tuesday.
 
Benaulim MLA Francisco Xavier Pacheco through his personal assistant lyndon monteiro submitted his reply to the officer of the speaker well before the scheduled time.
 
Speaker of Goa legislative assembly Pratapsingh Rane on Monday heard all three MLAs of the Nationalist Congress Party to decide on the whip and chief of legislative wing issue. All 3 MLA’s were present despite the earlier uncertainty created by Benaulim MLA stating that he will be going abroad for a few days.

NCP national general secretary T P Pithambaram has written to state assembly speaker Pratapsingh Rane asking him to relieve its two dissident MLAs from their posts in the party's legislative wing.

The letter requests Rane to drop NCP's Vasco MLA and revenue minister Jose Philip D'Souza as president of the NCP's legislative wing and its Tivim MLA and tourism minister Nilkanth Halarnkar as the party's chief whip.

Pithambaram has further asked the speaker to induct NCP's Benaulim MLA and former tourism minister Francisco ‘Mickky’ Pacheco  as legislature wing president as well as chief party whip.
