Distt Collector Nizamabad Dr Yogita Rana felicitated with PM Award

The Award was handed by the Prime Minister amidst a pompous and glittering gathering of 3000 civil servants. The Award included a citation and Rs 10 lakhs prize money.

RATTAN SHARMA APRIL 21, 2017 : Dr Yogita Rana, an IAS Officer of 2003-Batch and daughter of the soil, has been felicitated with Prime Minister Award in Public Administration 2017.

The Award was handed by the Prime Minister amidst a pompous and glittering gathering of 3000 civil servants. The Award included a citation and Rs 10 lakhs prize money.

Dr Yogita Rana, who has been working as District Collector Nizamabad since 2014, intends to spend Prize money for various public development works and welfare of poor in the District of Nizamabad.

The Award was presented for her outstanding work in eNAM . Over 590 districts in the country have competed for the prestigious award which is given to a civil servant on Civil Services Day 2017. eNAM is a national e-market platform created by GOI for transparent sale transactions and price discovery in State Agriculture Market Committee.

Dr Yogita Rana took the initiative to implement the eNAM in Nizamabad APMC. She envisaged and achieved the objectives in Nizamabad market yard, which made to draw the attention of  entire nation towards Nizamabad Market Yard.

 Dr Rana, alumni of Government Medical College Jammu got into Indian Administrative Service in 2003. She had spent six years of her service in various tribal areas of Andhra and Telangana states. The tribal areas like Bhadrachalam and Rampachodavaram were the most backward areas of the state with under currents of Naxal activities. She implemented Umeed a special project of ministry of rural development in Jammu and Kashmir as a representative of UNDP.

Dr Yogita Rana also received the best District Collector Award from the Government of Telangana in 2016 in recognition of her work to increase the green cover in the District of Nizamabad.

In the year 2016 she also bagged a national award from the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India  for her excellent work taken up under MNREGA in Nizamabad district.
