Newly formed state of Telangana and undivided state of Andhra Pradesh the both are under the clutches of draught. According to the government crop calendar Khareef season has to be started between May and June and ends at 30th of June.
The farmers in the two states had waited eagerly for the western monsoons but the monsoon didn't drop any water in the both states. The situation badly hit the agrarian sector. But some of the farmers sowed the seeds and the sprouts are looking for rain drops. According to the officials of Telangana state 52% of low rain fall is recorded in the state. So the farmers hopes are only in the rains of August.
And the agriculture department also suggesting the farmers to sow the short term crops. Actually 40.38 hectares to be sowed in Kharif but as on today but as on today only in 17.77 hectares are under cultivation due to low rain fall.
