Economic empowerment of women is essential to end hunger in Bihar: Dr Bhim Singh

"MGNREGA project is alive in Bihar only due to the active participation of gram panchayat representatives under the banner of THP,Bihar and Aprajeeta organization.Deny of job cards and real wages to laborers is a criminal negligence.Victims of MGNREGA corruption should fight for justice and protection of their rights." said senior advocate Ramchandra Lal Das in the inaugural program.

         "Despite several women welfare plans malnutrition in women and children is high.50 per cent reservation in Panchyati Raj for women is a good instrument for women. Economic empowerment of women is essential to end hunger in Bihar.Saving of money by women is also earning.Poor rural women can easily start very small scale industries like papad, incense sticks, pickles,etc.There is lack of awareness about  the industries department's new programs and schemes for the economic empowerment of  women in the state."said Dr Bhim Singh chief guest and minister of industries,Bihar in The Hunger Project,Women Representatives State Level Chaupal-2014 on Wednesday at Youth Hostel,Patna.

 On this occasion Dr Singh also announced 2 percent rebate on bank interest and 7 percent rebate for SC, ST and women. There is already 30 percent subsidy on bank loan for the starting of new small scale industries in Bihar.

During this Chaupal Bihar Industries minister Dr Bhim Singh released 5 Report Cards of Gram Panchayat Women Representatives of districts Mujaffarpur,Jamui,Rohtas,Jahanabad and West Champaran regarding food protection. He also released 5 excellent short documentary Hindi movies VCDs which was based on victory stories about gram panchayat women representatives.

Woman representative Lalpari Devi submitted memorandum to the Panchayati Raj minister Dr Vinod Prasad Yadav in the Chaupal. Jaylkali Devi (Mujaffarpur),Shanti Devi (Jamui) Kalwati Devi (Jamui), Mainamanti Devi (Jahanabad),Munaiza Khatoon (Jamui),Savita Kumari (Jahanabad),Dhruvpati Devi (Mujaffarpur) and others told their problems and success stories in the three days program at Patna.

This program three days state level program of elected women representatives from five districts of  Bihar was organized by the International organization The Hunger Project,Bihar branch and Aprajita Gram Panchayat Women Representative Organization,Bihar from 29 to 31 December in Patna.It was organized at different places everyday like SCADA Business Centre,Bihar Industries Association and Youth Hostel,Patna.
