April 15.  Now the VVIP and Senior bureaucrats of Haryana would enjoy the facility of German made EC-145 model Helicopter. The Haryana government has finalized a deal with Urocopter company of German for purchasing Helicopter of worth Rs.34 crores (55 lakhs Uro). The purchased process is likely to be completed within nine months and hopefully the Helicopter would be in Haryana at the end of this year. Interestingly, the Helicopter would be used at the time of crisis management also.

According to sources, though the Haryana government has its own short-size Helicopter but due to non-availability of sufficient Helipad, landing of the Helicopter is not possible each and every time at any place. Hence, the government was feeling need of such sort of Helicopter which not only can take off with any weather in day as well as in night but also can be useful in the crisis management also. ‘The Haryana government will make an advance payment of Rs. 1.65 Lakh Uro for it. The permission for purchasing is required yet from the Finance Minister under the Banking Law as the deal having the payment of over Rs. one lakh American dollar. That is why, the state aviation department has sent a proposal with full details to the Secretary to Central Finance Department.’ sources maintained and added that the process of getting import license would be initiated later.

The main feature of the German made Helicopter is that it carried two engines of high power with the seating capacity for minimum 8 passengers extendable to 11.
