Himachal's state level single window clearance

---The State Level Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority (SLSWC&MA) which at Shimla today under the Chairmanship of Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, granted permission to three new industrial proposals, entailing an investment of Rs. 214.55 crore and generating employment potential to 887 persons, and included new proposal of Green Valley Corn Kraft India Private Limited for setting up of manufacturing project of Starch and Liquid Glucose with two expansion proposals of Havells India Limited and Ambuja Cements Limited.

The State Level Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority (SLSWC&MA) which met at Shimla under the Chairmanship of Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister, granted permission to three new industrial proposals, entailing an investment of Rs. 214.55 crore and generating employment potential to 887 persons, and included new proposal of Green Valley Corn Kraft India Private Limited for setting up of manufacturing project of Starch and Liquid Glucose with two expansion proposals of Havells India Limited and Ambuja Cements Limited.

Chief Minister directed the authorities to ensure that close scrutiny of the investment proposals be carried out before presenting the same for approval of the Authority.  He said that efforts needed to be made to motivate new investors to set up their units out of the congested industrial areas.  He said that with the establishment of their units in other areas all basic infrastructural  facilities would be available to them as per need basis.  He said that land and water were two most essential ingredients for any manufacturing company and local authorities needed to ensure that need based provision was made to them so that there was no over exploitation of such commodities.  He said that the provisions of the State Industrial Policy needed to be implemented in letter and spirit besides extending all possible help to investors in eco-friendly environment of the State.

Prof. Dhumal said that the State had been selective in granting approval to the industrial proposals and was preferring eco-friendly, employment generating and local raw material based establishments.  He said that environment of the State had to be protected by the units by incorporating pollution control devices into their plant machinery and equipments.  He said that the State was discouraging polluting, high power consuming and low employment generating industries.  He said that the State had been providing uninterrupted power supply at affordable costs to the industrial sector.  He said that 70 percent employment to local youth was mandatory and had to be followed in letter and spirit by every entrepreneurs and establishments coming up in the State.

The Monitoring Authority lauded the contribution of outgoing Chief Secretary, Ms. Harinder Hira, especially in industrial development.

Shri Kishan Kapoor, Industries Minister, said that he had personally been motivating the prospective entrepreneurs to opt for establishment of their manufacturing units to other parts of the State.

Shri J.S.Rana, Commissioner Industries, welcomed the Chief Minister and conducted proceedings of the Meeting.

Manisha Nanda, Principal Secretary Tourism, Shri P.C.Dhiman, Principal Secretary, Home, Shri Sanjay Sood, Member Secretary, HP State Pollution Control Board, Shri R.K.Sharma, Engineer-in-Chief, IPH and other senior officers attended the meeting.     -0-
