It refers to ‘heavy’ increase in tariff-list of Parliament-canteen after so many years, which has annoyed some of our law-makers. Prices of items served in Parliament-canteen after the increase still remain much lower than those available at footpaths for persons below poverty-line. Rule should be to make tariff-list for Parliament-canteen updated at regular intervals to be at par with those at similar outlets in private sector.
Our Parliamentarians are rich enough to afford luxury of delicious food like others who have to pay much more at outlets outside Parliament House which is not approachable for everyone. At least it is totally ant-public and senseless to run canteen at Parliament House at loss to make law-makers enjoy unjustifiably at cost of tax-payer.
