The good section of media labeled the Karmapa a Chinese spy while Chinese authorities denied that the head of the Tibetan Karma Kagyu sect was its spy or agent.

The Indian media has gone crazy with 1.14 lakh Chinese Yuan seized last week from trust of Buddhist spiritual leader Karmapa Ugyen Trinley Dorje. Tibetans across the country continuous holding protest rallies in the support of Karmapa, after the Enforcement Directorate questioned their religious leader for almost seven hours.

The good section of media labeled the Karmapa a Chinese spy while Chinese authorities denied that the head of the Tibetan Karma Kagyu sect was its spy or agent.

The media speculation is nonstop without any groundwork research. The episode exposes the way the Indian media works and raising the question of religious leader being spy who is respected by millions across the world. It also shocked Tibetan people faith in Indian democracy and India’s role in Tibet which may harm their long term interests and relation. Indian media believes that it is the Chinese governments strategy to take command on border regions.

It has become a serious matter around globe by raising questions on spiritual leaders and destroying reputation without any ample proof.

Indian media showed the Karmapa’s apolitical stance as suspicious. Decades of despotism during cultural revolt has not been able to shake the belief that Tibetans have in their Lamas. The Indian media’s assault on the Karmapa will only reiterate Tibetan respect for the Karmapa.

India media only had given chance to China to create more confusion in the exiled Tibetan community in India and created disappointment about India among Tibetans inside China. Same time India should continuous with the probe till Karmapa prove innocent. India has provided refuge to more than 100,000 Tibetan exiles. Media need to grow up otherwise their all action will lead to the country in trouble.
