THE REPUBLIC Day 2011 celebration will have Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as the chief guest. India will accord him the honour of being the chief guest on Republic Day as it wants to have a special relationship and close ties with Indonesia.

Currently, bilateral trade of India with Indonesia is over $10 billion and the negotiations for  Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) will take place when the Indonesian President visits India this month and receives the honour of the chief guest for the Repulic Day.

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, a retired Indonesian Army general officer, is the current President of Indonesia. Yudhoyono's manifesto for the future of Indonesia is based on prosperity, peace, justice and democracy. He is aiming for economic growth of at least 7% and a revival of small and medium-sized enterprises for his country.

Yudhoyono received his Masters degree in Management from Webster University of US in 1991. First Lady Ani Yudhoyono holds a political science degree and was the first vice chairman of her husband's Democratic Party.
