JKFFA pays tributes to 25 CRPF personnel

Jammu, April 25: Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) paid floral tributes to 25 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel who sacrificed their lives for the sake of nation while on duty today.

The prorgammes was held at Dogra Shaurya Sthamb, Amphalla, here under the chairmanship of JKFFA President Ved Gandotra.

Former Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Kiran Wattal was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Suspected Maoist militants martyred 25 CRPF jawans in Chhattisgarh's south Sukma region in an ambush possibly to thwart a crucial road link.

Floral tributes were paid to those who laid down their lives while fighting Maoist.

Expressing grief over the death of 25 CRPF personnel in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh in a Maoist attack, Kiran Wattal paid tributes to the martyrs and condolences to their families.

 "I pay homage to the brave paramilitary jawans who fought for nation's safety and laid down their lives for us. We are proud of them," Ved Gandotra said.

 "Centre would strengthen paramilitary force with better equipment with priority," he said.

"We the people of Jammu and Kashmir salute them for their bravery as they fought with strong will and for the cause of our nation," Gandotra said.

A two-minute silence was also observed in the memory of all those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of nation.

Prominent persons present on the occasion included State President Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan, Pritam Sharma, Raj Kumar Tyagi, Tej Ram Dogra, S. Davinder Singh, Baldev Raj Atri, Brig Mehra, Ram Rattan Raina, Prabhat Kapahi, Karnail Chand, S. Rajinder Singh and Pummy Baba Ji.
