Journalism for raising TRP or Criminal Record ?

Credibility of Media is being questioned for long time and we have been hearing the term ‘Paid Media’ in Social Media quiet frequently – however the race of TRP might result in such a consequence is not something we are expecting.

A Zero FIR has been filed against a Media News Journalist Deepak Chaurasia – the FIR was lodged under various sections of IPC, the IT Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act at Palam Vihar police station of Gurgaon (Haryana) on December 15, 2013.

This FIR is for spreading a video which he is alleged to have doctored and aired to tarnish someone’s reputation.  High Court has staid the Arrest of Deepak and further hearing is scheduled later this month.

Deepak dominated Social Media after this incident; for sometime he was trending on Twitter with #ArrestCHORasia in Top ten trends of India.

It is also worth noting that Deepak Ji has been ranked #1 by mediacrooks for ‘India’s Worst Journalist - 2014’. Another Journalist Barkha Dutt had this honour till last year which she has lost to Deepak now.

Most of the folks watching Media channels are unaware of these allegations and the fact that certain Media channels have received strict warnings from NBSA for not using right language in some their broadcasts – now a days we should really question ourselves before believing anything that is shown on Media News channels, specially the news which is dramatized and focused on Opinions rather then facts.
