Maoist killed 5 persons including police constable and a home guard in separate incidents on Thursday last.

MAOISTS KILLED 5 persons including police constable and a home guard in separate incidents on Thursday last in Odisha. The Maoists struck at a weekly market in Anakadheli under Machkunda police station area of Koraput district gunned down police constable Bala Takri and home guard Binod Khora according to police source of information. Maoists killed another 2 persons at Godiballi village under Kashipur block of Rayagada district suspecting them as police informer.

The Maoists also kidnapped and killed Suba Bhandami of Potteru village under Mottu police station limits of Malakangiri district, according to the police source of information. They even pasted several wall posters demanding to quite the services of home guards and special police officers appointed by the government to collect the information of the movements of the Maoists.

In the mean time 5 home guards from Machkunda police station submitted their resignation out of fear of their lives. Several SPOs and Home guards working in Undivided Koraput district decided to quite their services. The number of killings forced the government to suspend further peace talks with the mediators in near future according to the Home department Odisha, Bhubaneswar.
