Math teacher Ravi Gupta honoured with “Malti Gyanpeeth Award”

Math teacher - Ravi Gupta of Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Guruharsahai – was honoured with Malti Gyanpeeth Award-2014, by Vice President, Mohammad Hamid Ansari, at FICCI Auditorium, New Delhi.

Ravi Gupta is the first person from Ferozepur District to get this award.  This award was started by Manoj Singal, Chairman Mahender Singh Singal Educational & Research Society in association with the Punjab Government, was started in 2013, fulfilling the desire of  his mother Smt.Malti Mahender Sngh Singh, for the Physics, Chemistry, Math, English and Social Studies teachers  working in Girls' High & Senior Secondary Schools.

This – Malti Gyanpeeth Award – will be given every year on birth anniversary of Smt.Malti Mahendar Singh Singal on May 29.  In this award, three teachers of all the subjects will be honoured with a cheque of cash prize of Rs.1 lakh, certificate and a robe of honour.

On this occasion, Vice President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari, Menaka Gandhi Cabinet Minister GOI, Sikandar Singh Malooka, Education Minister Punjab, Abhay Singh Chautala, MP and various prominent persons were present.

Apart from Amarjit Singh Khokhar, DEO (Sec.), Rma Khanna, Principal of Govt. Sr.Sec.School Guruharsahai and various social organizations – Agreed Foundation, NGOs Coordination, Sr.Citizen Forum, PDM Memorial Foundation, Helping Hands -  in Ferozepur  congratulated on the distinction of honour of Ravi Gupta with prestigious "Malti Gyanpeeth Award".

Speaking on the phone, Ravi Gupta said, this award has motivated me more to do something better  for the girls students.
