Misuse of IFFCO funds
MADHU AGRAWAL | 20 Jan 2011

Union government should enquire into wastage of co-operative funds on the sad occasion for unduly glorifying its deceased chairperson Surinder Kumar Jakhar.

It was a gross misuse of co-operative fund of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) when full-size obituary-advertisements were given on January 18, 2011, in most big newspapers of the country on death of its chairperson Surinder Kumar Jakhar. Union government should enquire into wastage of co-operative funds on the sad occasion for unduly glorifying its deceased chairperson.

If IFFCO is a public-authority accountable to audit by any government or constitutional authority like Comptroller and Auditor General of India, then the concerned audit-agency should also mark its objections on such misuse of co-operative fund on glorification of an individual after his death.
