The newly constructed Administrative Block of the Himachal High Court will be inaugurated by Justice Kurian Joseph, Judge of the Supreme Court of India on October 5 in presence of Sh. Ajay Manikrao Khanwilkar, Chief Justice of the High Court of H.P.
The foundation stone of the Administrative Block was laid on 15.02.2009 by the then Chief Justice of India Sh. K.G. Balakrishnan. The sprawling new Block is spread in an area of 3382.30 sq. metres. It will house the Judicial and IT wings of the High Court.
It has around 50 rooms to accommodate various sections of the Judicial Branch and IT wing, a State-of-the-art auditorium with seating capacity of around 350 persons, a canteen and other facilities.
Keeping in view of the growing requirements of the High Court and paucity of adequate space to cater to the needs of the litigants, employees and Bar with ever increasing number of case files, a new complex to ease congestion in the existing High Court building was the need of the hour.
The comfortable and spacious complex coupled with new system of digitization of Case files and CMIS is bound to create a stress free and congenial atmosphere for employees to work in the High Court.
