ONLY SERVICE OF OTHERS TAKES YOU TO HEAVEN

It is a fact that, just on the basis of wealth, one can neither earn a good name nor get the blessings of God, nor one gets peace of mind.
IT IS a fact that, just on the basis of wealth, one can neither earn a good name nor get the blessings of God, nor one gets peace of mind. If one’s heart does not have care for others, then, no matter how religious one is, all goes a waste. There is a short story in this context.
In the U.S. there was a very rich person named Joseph. He used to go to discussions and used to pray, and used to give different kinds of presents to the bishops. He had also built a church with his resources. Because of his wealth, he was a victim of quite a number of vices. He always wanted to get peace and happiness, but, unfortunately he never got peace of mind. He had also kept many servants, and he used to trouble them a lot.
In the same city, there was another person whose name was John. He neither used to go to church, not he had any fame. He never showed the superficial fabric of being highly religious. He always used to help the poor and needy persons with open heart. Because of this, he eventually lost all his money. He was forced to lead a life of a poor person. All his companions and friends left him all alone. All of a sudden he became very sick. Because of the lack of medication he eventually died, and his neighbours threw his dead body in the sea.
At the same time, Joseph also died. Both John and Joseph went to the other world. But Joseph went to hell and John to heaven. The king of heaven said: Just by praying in the church no one gets heaven. Joseph never helped the poor, because he had a doubt that one can buy heaven with one’s wealth. In fact, it is not true. The fact is that it is only through good deeds and humility that one can easily reach heaven, and even get salvation. The rich and super rich people can never go to heaven no matter what they do.
