Exhibiton declared open by Commerce Minister of India, Mr. Anand Sharma along with the Commerce Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Makhdoom Mohammad Amin Fahim
Pakistan High Commission today announced its first ever premium Lifestyle Pakistani exhibition at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. During this 4 day long exhibition, over 100 top of the line exhibitors from the country are expected to showcase products in Fashion apparel, home textiles, furniture, leather goods, home accessories, spices, sports goods and marble handicrafts. This first of its kind exhibiton was inaugurated by the Commerce Minister of India, Mr. Anand Sharma along with the Commerce Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Makhdoom Mohammad Amin Fahim. The occasion was also graced by Mr. Tariq Puri,Chief Executive, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, and the esteemed members of Indian trade bodies like FICCI & CII.
Commenting on the occasion, Pakistan Commerce Minister, Mr. Makhdoom Amin Fahim said, “Lifestyle Pakistan is the first step towards the enhancement of trade relations between India & Pakistan in the days to come. Through this exhibiton, we aim to achieve a quantum-leap in Pakistan’s export sector. Our prime focus is to develop and promote growing trade relations between India and Pakistan by pooling in the best of resources from both the countries.”
Also, speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Commerce Minister of India, Mr. Anand Sharma said, “We are delighted and honored to host Lifestyle Pakistan in India. We see this exhibiton as a milestone that will pave the way for further bilateral trade relations between the countries and look forward many such associations in the times to come.”
Tariq Puri, Chief Executive, TDAP, said, “Regional trade focus with countries in our region is a key objective of TDAP. We are keen to translate the cultural and social affinity and the strong connect between the people of India and Pakistan into expanded bilateral trade and commercial relations. The presence of a large businessmen delegation and the exhibition of such scale will help explore the infinite possibilities and opportunities in bilateral trade in both the countries.”
The day one of the exhibiton witnessed key exhibitors like Gul Ahmed, AlKaram, Nishat, Chen One, Bonanza , Hub Leather, & Orient Textile Mills showcasing their products. Honey Waqar, Faiza Samee, Maria Bilal and Rizwan Beyg were among the ace designers who unveiled their collections today.
This four-day long event not only aims to give a boost to the trade relations between the 2 countries but also aims at giving visitors an opportunity to experience the authentic Pakistani cuisine at the ‘Food Extravaganza’ and the musical performances lined up during the remaining 3 days of the exhibition.
